Holy Trinity Parish Church

The beautiful village church, part of our National network of Parish Churches is tucked away beside the Manor and behind the Old Rectory. The church is open each day and an excellent guide book written by a local resident, John Isherwood is in the church and will guide you around the building. It is some hundreds of years old, although extensively restored in the 19th Cenury, is well worth a look.

Anyone is welcome at any time to visit, sit quietly and pray

There is a regular pattern of services.

These are also advertised in the Village News each month

The church is also available to all villagers for weddings and blessings, for baptisms and for funerals. There are special services throughout the year - at Christmas and Easter; Harvest and Remembrance:

PROPOSED RENOVATIONS FOR THE CHURCH - FURTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

With the aim of bringing the church facilities to the standard expected in the 21st Century, a number of improvements are proposed. The planned improvements will give much greater freedom of action in bringing to the community: concerts, recitals, art exhibitions, and flower festivals, facilities for a crèche, a meeting room, all in addition to the weekly and festival services held throughout the year.

The work is planned in four phases: Renew the roof (essential); introduce mains and drains; install a basic kitchen in the vestry, with a screen between the vestry and the nave; and build a WC extension on the North side of the church.

There are a number of interesting documents you can view including a

Statement of Significance of the church in the community.

The Statement of Need for the proposed renovations.

The Annual Report for 2013 gives an informative background to the use of the church.

Quinquennial Report which gives information on the structure of the church and its upkeep.
